Trendy Toddler Tuesday - Retro Cool

It's Trendy Toddler Tuesday, held by Little M and his Very Busy Mama.

This week, Ethan is rocking a retro look.  My Mum kept everything from when my brother and I were children.  I mean everything.  All the toys, all the clothes (unless they were ruined).  When I was pregnant, we went through the loft and she even had 30 terry cloth nappies up there still... honestly!  They came in handy for wiping up Ethan's baby sick though.  Anyway, as a result, Ethan gets the chance to wear a lot of our old clothes - mostly my brothers now, I don't think I can quite get away with the dresses on him! (though I do want to buy him a fairy outfit because he wants one!).  OK.  Pics....

So, Ethan is wearing a beautiful top by Duns who are rather like Smafolk and Plastisock with their designs.  It's such a gorgeous top with a city life print on it (bikes, cars, buses, trees, houses etc..)  His dungarees were mine, in around 1985 I presume.  They were hand made in England, Mum thinks it may have been a friend of a friend.  His slippers are rather like Moccis, but are from H&M.  He adores them and gets upset about his "cold feet" if he doesn't have them on!

Ethan tells me he likes this outfit because it's "yellow with tractor and cosy and comfy".  So, there we have it!

  1. So cool! I have two t shirts from when me and my twin brother were tiny and I put my daughter in it. So cute, I wish I had more.

    Loving the seventies vibe. x

  2. Aww that's fab missielizzie! I love that we have clothes that were mine and my brothers - and in some cases, my cousins as well from the early 70s! I hope to pass them on to Ethan's children (if he has them!).

    Thanks for reading! x

  3. Oh my goodness, Ethan is a true vintage baby! I can't believe your mum kept all your clothes. Hard to image because I've given so much of it away. I don't think they make clothes like they used to. I am certainly loving this yellow getup..too too cute with a retro vibe. Two hands up from us!

    1. Well so far, I'm turning out just like my Mum. I've kept everything Ethan's worn unless it's been ruined or was given to me and I wasn't too keen on it (in which case it has been sold or given away). I have 5 extra large vaccum bags of his clothes already.. and his wardrobe contains all his clothes up to age 6!! I am terrible! It started when I was pregnant - I bought all the clothes to cover the first 3 months, then got bored and extended it. By the time he was born I had everything up to age 2 and so it's gone on.. I just love buying clothes for him! He has a better wardrobe than me I'm sure...

  5. So stylin', I'm digging Ethan's genuine vintage kicks. And I would love to see him in a fairy outfit - if you think he'd forgive you for it when he's older!

By the way, how cool is your blog title/header?

    1. I just know that Ethan would love a fairy outfit! I know my parents have photos of my brother dressed up as a fairy (after I got my hands on him). I think it's traditional!

  7. Very cute vintage threads! Having seen photos of what my Mum dressed me in ( I was a 70's baby) I'm quite pleased she didn't keep them - they're definitely not as cool as these...
