Trendy Thursday - H&M All For Children

For the last few years, H&M have launched a special collection of children's clothing and accessories in October called All For Children in collaboration (and to help raise funds for) UNICEF.  Each year, the collection is quite something so I was looking forward to this years collection.

Well, if you're on Instagram and love kids fashion, chances are you know just how amazing this years collection is.  With a woodland theme, there is hardly an item I haven't lusted after.  I was never going to be in a position to buy all of the items I wanted, but I was lucky enough to get a few.  The one item I really wanted but didn't manage to get was the bird cape.  Stunning item.. if anyone has one and doesn't want it, let me know!!

I did get hold of these amazing boots and this fantastic bear hat.  Ethan is mad for the hat.  The boots are a little large yet so it'll be a while before you see him in them!

Some items are still available online and I'm planning on purchasing this top and legging set and this cool tshirt.

Being a blogger comes with it's perks, there's no doubt about that.. but it also exposes you to all the wonders that are out there.  Particularly if you are into fashion.  I love fashion and clothing for myself but I'm even more into kids fashion as you know and there are so many wonderful brands and designers for kids.  So many fun clothes!!

If I had the spare cash, this is what I'd be splashing it on:

These amazing Tootsa MacGinty knits and wonderful Metsola monochrome top stocked by The Dandy Kid.  Love, love, LOVE!

These epic Christmas designs from Smafolk & JNY Designs stocked by Funky Little People:

This fantastic bedding and funky trousers from the super cool Beau L0ves:

These Oeuf fox mittens stocked by Scout & Co Kids:

This insanely amazing Mini Rodini coat stocked by Cissy Wears:

I could go on and on ad infinitum I think.  How about do?  Do you have a constant wishlist?  It can't just be me!

Trendy Thursday - #Styleitkids week two!

I am still really enjoying #Styleitkids on Instagram (see last week's post for more details) and it's really cheering me up.  I am only getting around 4 hours sleep every night so am just about getting through the day.. each day I feel more like I'm surviving than living.  If I'm honest, it's really getting me down.  So, for me, at the moment, #Styleitkids is a little pick me up each morning.

This is what Felix & Ethan have been wearing over the last week:

Have you been joining in?

Link up your kids fashion posts below, I'll do my best to give you a shout out over Twitter but please forgive my short blog posts and general rubbishness whilst I'm coping with this lack of sleep...

Trendy Thursday - Blah Blah Blah

My boys have pretty much been wearing the same thing on repeat over the last week, their Whistle & Flute ghost tops.. so I'm kinda struggling to have an outfit to show off this week!

Felix wore his Donna Wilson Blah Blah Blah leggings for the first time the other day.  I LOVE THEM!! They look adorable and the material is SOOOOO soft.  Just lovely.

Donna Wilson leggings

I spent the day enjoying looking at them but when I took them off at the end of the day I discovered they were covered in holes!! When I found the first hole I thought he must have snagged them on something but in total I found 8 holes, all over the leggings.  I think it must be some fault with the material.  Sad :-(  I tweeted John Lewis though and they reassured me I can get them replaced if I take them back to a store- a mission for half term!

What have your monkeys been wearing this week?  Link up below!  Don't forget to comment here and on other's who link up!  Please link back to me in your blog post :-)

Boo! Halloween Fashion - Trendy Thursday

Whistle & Flute are one of our favorite brands.  My boys both have one of their cloud print tops which always look amazing.

A while ago W&F posted a picture on Instagram which got Ethan and I very excited - they were making a ghost print tee for Halloween!  Not any old print either, one that glows in the dark!  I ordered as soon as they went live and about three weeks ago our tees arrived in the post!

Whistle and Flute Boo! Halloween Top

Since then, Ethan hasn't wanted to take his off.  He was worn it all weekend for two weekends on the trot.  If he weren't in school, I'm pretty sure it would have been on him all week!  He's obsessed with it, he hugs it, kisses it, tells me how much he loves his ghost!!

Whistle and Flute Boo! Halloween Top

Felix is equally taken with his but a little less vocal.  He does say Wooooo! when he sees himself in the mirror though.

Ethan has already told me he'll be wearing his ghost top on the big day itself, along with his bat cape and superhero mask from Velveteen Babies.

I thought I'd share a few Halloween inspired picks from some other favorite brands:

H&M:

H&M Halloween Fashion

George at Asda and Hello Apparel:

Kids Halloween Fashion Hello Apparel George at Asda

You can always rely on H&M and George to come up with the goods for holidays, and for bargain prices as well!  The Hello Apparel top is awesome, I'd love that for my boys - it has a glow in the dark ghost!

Do your kids dress up for Halloween?  Are you having a party? Going Trick or Treating?  Well, whatever you get up to, if you have a kids fashion post, please do link up below!  Don't forget to link back to my blog, comment here and on other linked posts!  Thanks!

Trendy Thursday - hand printed chic!

Last Thursday I had a few precious hours to myself and I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  For ages now I've been inspired by hand printed items by Woody & Florence and the hand made look of clothing lines such as Bobo Choses and Beau Loves.  I really wanted to print a few items for the boys to wear and these were the results:

I have to say I was quite pleased with the results! Felix has already worn a couple of the vests underneath outfits and I think they really added a cool edge!

Ruffle collar - Polarn O Pyret
Kawaii Cloud Vest - Whistle & Flute
Harlequin leggings - Rock Your Baby
Moccasins - Belle & The Bear

Snake Vest - Mini Rodini
Harlequin leggings - H&M
Socks - Bebedepino via Gnome & Post

Have you made any hand printed items for your children?  Or any other handmade items?

If you've got a kids fashion post, link it up below!  Please don't forget to comment here, link back to my blog and visit others who join in!

Trendy Thursday - Animalicious!

Lookee! Lookee!! Our first Pray 4 Trax necklace arrived!  I must admit, as was pointed out to me on Instagram, that I said I was buying these necklaces as stocking fillers for the boys, but when this one arrived the other day (and I knew just from the packaging what it was) I couldn't help getting it out and having a good look.  Felix saw it and wanted to put it on.  I could quite easily hide it away and put it in his stocking if it was just him, he's too young to say anything on Christmas Day.. Ethan has also seen it though and he would definitely think something was up if it came out of Felix's stocking.  I don't want to ruin Father Christmas for him so I think the necklace will have to stay out.  Oh dear!!

MarMar Copenhagen, Cissy Wears, Pray4Trax, Belle and The Bear, Bebe De Pino

Felix has also been sporting his MarMar Copenhagen leopard print suit this week and wow, I think he looks adorable in it!  Hubby likened him to Bet Lynch.  Whatever.  I have to admit there is a passing resemblance - platinum blond, animal print.. and he does like to hold a twig in his mouth rather like a cigarette...

MarMar Copenhagen, Cissy Wears, Pray4Trax, Belle and The Bear, Bebe De Pino

Leopard print suit - MarMar Copenhagen via CissyWears
Socks - BebeDePino via Gnome & Post

The curls and animal print do, as with much of what he wears, make him even more likely to be referred to has she and her, but whatever, I think he looks awesome, and he's comfy and happy!

What have your little trendsetters been sporting this week?  Link up below, tweet me and don't forget to link back and comment!

Trendy Thursday - Curls Gone Wild!

Ooo, we love a Kenzie Jaws design in our house!  Kenzie's designs were one of the first to pop out at me on Instagram and I've been a fan for over a year now I think.  Both of my boys have a couple of her tees.  Last week we took delivery of one that I've wanted for Felix for ages.  Really, it couldn't be more perfect for him!

Let me present Curls Gone Wild!

Curls Gone Wild Kenzie Jaws

Curls Gone Wild Kenzie Jaws

Go on, be honest, it couldn't suit him more, could it?!  It has to be said that most of the children I've seen wearing this tee on Instagram are girls, but I felt Felix could rock it.  He might not have curly hair when he gets older.  I'm enjoying his soft golden curls for now and every time we step out of the door, we get complimented.  People actually come up to us in the street and tell me "never cut his hair!". And I don't want to!

Curls Gone Wild tee - Kenzie Jaws
Harlequin leggings - Rock Your Baby via MiraMira Dublin
Converse - Ethan's cast offs!

In other news, whoop whoop, we are closer to being the owners of some Pray 4 Trax necklaces!  As I type this tonight, a new batch have gone live on the Little Vikings site.  I just bought an orange bead bear necklace.  I also purchased an elephant one the other day from another store.  Exciting stuff!  They might well end up as Christmas presents, depends how long they take to arrive and how restrained I'm feeling!!

Over to you lot now, what have your little ones been stepping out in?  Link up below!  Please please don't forget to comment here, link back to me and visit others who join in!

Trendy Thursday - Wearing the new season garb

Do you remember I showed my picks from some of the A/W collections recently?  Well, both boys were rocking some a couple of weeks ago when we visited Bristol Zoo and I think they looked pretty darn amazing!

Beau Loves, The Mini Classy, Scout and Co Kids

Bow & arrow top - Beau Loves via Scout & Co
Harem pants - The Mini Classy
Shoes - Clarks

Mini Rodini, Marmalade Sky Baby, H&M, Whistle and Flute
Kawaii cloud shirt - Whistle & Flute
Tiger infinity scarf - Marmalade Sky Baby
Green Fleece - H&M
Pug Leggings - Mini Rodini via Scout & Co
Hi-tops - H&M

I think the Beau Loves bow & arrow print top is so cute.  The fabric is soft, it feels lovely against the skin.  The colour is very practical as well, especially with my muck attractor Felix! I like how it goes lower at the back, makes it stand out as something a bit different.  I think he'll be wearing it for a long while as well.  I bought it in age two so he can wear it baggy for a while!  It goes really well with the Mini Classy trousers, looks very cool!

Ethan is mad about his pug leggings.  The look amazing.  They are a great colour for trousers - very practical with a boy running about getting muddy!  Ethan wanted to team them with his favorite tee, his cloud print tee from Whistle & Flute.  He adores this top so much that he actually gets it out of his wardrobe to hug it.  I kid not.  The Marmalade Sky scarf gave a pop of colour and he enjoyed finishing his outfit with his "disco boots".

If you've got a cool kid to show off, some funky new threads, some old ones being given a new lease of life, whatever it may be, as long as it's kids fashion, feel free to link up below!  Please don't forget to comment here and on other posts linked up and please PLEASE link back to me in your post and/or display my badge.

Trendy Thursday - Donna Wilson for John Lewis

This time of year is EXPENSIVE. All the new AW collections coming out... it's a drain on my budget man!

It's so hard to resist though.. and everyone is getting in on the game!  Take Donna Wilson for example.  I've loved her knitted whimsy's for yonks.  When I came into a little bit of spare cash a few years ago, something I treated myself to were a few Donna Wilson cushions and other bits and bobs.  To this day I still adore them.

Last year Ms Wilson collaborated with Mamas and Papas.  She designed a gorgeous buggy for them and some accessories.  I had recently become the owner of a fantastic Cosatto number, so there was no way I could treat us to a Donna Wilson buggy, but I did buy the fab fox blanket and toy fox she had designed.  Regret those purchases I do not...

Leap forward to now and what do I discover?  Donna Wilson has collaborated with John Lewis and has a GORGEOUS collection of clothing for children.  And I do mean gorgeous.

It's hard not to buy everything.  Honestly, the colours, the prints, the contrasts.  She's covered all bases, monochrome, pattern, tribal, animals.  It's all there.  I bet you want to know what I've gone for?  Here you go:

Donna Wilson for John Lewis

Donna Wilson for John Lewis

Donna Wilson for John Lewis

Aren't they amazing?  I bought the Blah Blah leggings to fit Felix - he's always jabbering away!  The stem print leggings will be for Ethan.  They will look awesome with his Whistle and Flute tees.

The forest print top is for Felix.  I've ordered it in age two so hopefully he can wear it baggy and keep wearing it until it's tight.   I think it's going to look fantastic with the monochrome leggings and trousers Felix has from Shop Haute and H&M.

The leggings both retail at £10 and the top is £15.

So, are any of you planning on a purchase from the Donna Wilson collection?  Are there any other new collections you're loving?  Link up your kids fashion posts below.  Please don't forget to link back to my blog in your post and preferably, display my badge (see right).  Please also pop back to the linky and visit others who've joined in!

Trendy Thursday - Socks, socks, glorious socks!

I do like a nice pair of feature socks.  Is that a thing?  You know, like a feature wall.  Check out my feature socks!

What am I on about you're wondering.. Well, right now I'm really loving socks worn pulled up (you know, geek stylee, the opposite to how you would have worn them at school in the '90s) and preferably with a cute design on them.

I'm really in love with Bebedepino socks, they are total awesomeness.  The best place to buy them is via Gnome and Post, they stock quite a few of the designs available (and watch your credit card, they stock loads of other cool brands!).

Bebedepino socks, Marmalade Sky Baby

Another place I discovered is The Bamboo Design.  They stock a few pairs of adorable socks.  Ethan has a pair with snow clouds and lightening on.  Felix has "little drummer boy" socks.  I particularly like the drummer boy pair.  The biggest problem I have is taking a photo of him wearing them!!

The Bamboo Company

He's always on the move.  Not very helpful for someone who blogs about kids fashion!   Anyway, despite the photos not being the best, hopefully you can see just how cute these socks are!

Is it just me pulling my boys' socks up?  Have you got any especially cute pairs you like to put your children in?  Why not share your kids fashion posts below.  Just don't forget to comment here and on a few others who join in and to link to my blog (or display my badge). Thank you!

Trendy Thursday - My picks from the A/W collections

Instagram has been abuzz with A/W14 collections over the last few weeks.  Beau Loves, Mini Rodini, Bobo Choses, they've all been at it.  Every time I pop on there for a quick nose around more and more folks are sharing what their shops will be stocking or what they've ordered or bought.

I'm really loving the Beau Loves and Mini Rodini collections for this season.  Beau Loves are sticking with their cool mask motif but also adding in statement crosses and arrows.  Very unisex, very cool.  Mini Rodini have some awesome animals and a bit of a circus theme going on.

I've found it very hard to pick just a small few items.  If only I had thousands to throw around!  After great deliberation I went for a strong man print top, some pug print leggings and a bear cap from the Mini Rodini Collection and a bow and arrow print top from Beau Loves.  It really wasn't easy!

Strong Man top - Mini Rodini via Scandinavian Minimal
Pug leggings - Mini Rodini via Scout & Co Kids
Bear Cap - Mini Rodini via Scout & Co Kids
Bow and arrow top - Beau Loves via Scout & Co Kids

The strong man top arrived on Saturday and Ethan wanted to put it on straight away.  In fact, he spent most of the weekend wearing it!  He had it on when we visited MShed in Bristol to look around the Wallace & Gromit exhibition (it was well worth a visit!) and it looked pretty darn cute!

The cap, arrow top & pug leggings have yet to arrive but watch out on Instagram because when they do, you'll know about it!

Have you bought your kids anything from the A/W collections this year?

Trendy Thursday - First Shoes With Clarks

This week for Trendy Thursday I'm going to share with you our Clarks "First Shoes" experience.

I was recently contacted on behalf of Clarks and asked if either of my boys would like to try some shoes from their range.  We decided that as Felix hadn't been measured it would a be a great opportunity.

We ended up combining the first shoe purchase along with a long planned trip to Clarks Village.  We are lucky to live fairly close to it and usually visit at least once a year.  I find it a good place to get measuring done and the outlet shop is good for school shoes!

Clarks Village
Let's get our feet measured!

Both boys got measured.  I wanted to check that Ethan's feet would be OK for the school shoes he already had.  It seemed to me that they hadn't grown at all in the last year and this proved to be the case (crazy - how can his feet not have grown?!).  At least he can stay in the same school shoes for a while longer.  This is proof of the quality of the shoes, he's worn them for a whole school year and they are still going strong!

Felix took to the measuring experience very well.  These days they have fancy measuring machines that you stand on and ipads to help the shop assistance measure - very clever stuff!!  As Felix was unlikely to stand still for them, they used a hand held more traditional measuring device which was just fine.  As it was something new to him he was calm and didn't try to fight the shop assistant off - thankfully!

Measuring feet at Clarks

After we'd got the boys measured (Ethan was still a 9F and Felix came in at a 5G) we went to have a look around to see if there was anything that took our fancy.  We were in the large outlet shop so I was quite hopeful.  Nothing jumped out at me though.  My only real criticism with Clarks is the choice for boys.  It seems to me there is quite a lot to choose from online (though still far less than for girls) but in the actual shop, there were really only about 3 different styles in Felix's size.  Even in larger sizes the choice was out of maybe 4, perhaps 5 styles.  And they were all brown or blue.. perhaps a bit of khaki green and of course black for school shoes.

Feeling a little disappointed we left the shop.  All was not lost though, because a full price shop was also on site just around the corner.

As soon as we stepped in the door I was a little more hopeful.  Although the selection was still small there were quite a few styles that hadn't been in the other shop.  There were some quite funky looking trainers and some cool smart looking shoes that stood out with day-glow laces.  They really grabbed my attention and a lovely looking grey pair with green day-glow laces were on the shelf in Felix's size.

I asked a shop assistant if we could try them.  The answer was yes, of course, but we were also offered what Clarks call the "First Shoes Experience".  We thought this would be fun, so of course, we said yes!  The First Shoes Experience is basically the same as a normal children's shoe fitting but you get a photograph taken, a little leaflet telling you all about how children's feet grow and a record card on which you record your child's foot size each time they get measured.

Clarks First Shoes Experience

The sales assistant servicing us was lovely, very attentive.  I felt we received great one to one attention and I had confidence that the shoes were being fitted correctly.  Especially because they ask another member of staff to check the fitting of the shoes.  Very reassuring.

The shoes fitted Felix perfectly and he was soon tearing around the shop causing mayhem in his new kicks.  He even attempted to shop lift them by running out of the shop several times.  The looked adorable on him so we were very happy to take them.

Since then Felix has worn the shoes on many occasions.  They appear to be very comfortable for him, he hasn't experienced any rubbing on his feet or toes.  He walks very well in them.  They aren't big and clompy, he can run about in them freely.

I'm always happy to recommend Clarks.  I do love their quality and service.  I wish they'd broaden their stock for boys and I wish their girls section wasn't so pink, it does seem a little dated to me.  There are some gorgeous unisex styles that I think they could be stocking.  I'm sure something a little retro would go down a treat.  Overall though, I feel confident when I buy from Clarks.  I know my child's' feet will be well looked after.

Trendy Thursday - Holiday Style!

We have a wonderful week in Brittany last week.  So lucky with the weather, only a little bit of rain.  Brittany isn't the south of France, we knew we weren't going to be getting super high temperatures but to be honest, that suits us.

The boys were happy.  The had the pool and the beach.  They spent the week in their swimwear and shorts.  Comfy and easy to wear!

Now, I have to say that the photo of Ethan above (I'm sure I don't even have to tell you which one!) is probably one of the funniest I've ever taken of him.  Poser!

The Clothes:

This is my tribe vest - Kenzie Jaws
Black and white swim shorts - Katvig
Brown Dad vest (on Felix) - Minty via eBay
Stripy UV top - Katvig
Cap - George @ Asda
Jelly Fish playsuit - Indikidual via KyNa Boutique

What have your little ones been rocking this week?  Link up below to share.  I'm sure you know the deal by now.   Comment here, share the badge, link back to the blog, comment on others who take part.  I will tweet your link at least once, hopefully twice!

Trendy Thursday - Baptism Outfits

This Sunday just gone was Felix's baptism.   Ethan was baptised when he was 7 months old and Felix was 14 months old so twice the age - it took us longer to get things organised - life is busier with two children, one of whom is at school!  Anyway, due to the age difference, I knew Felix wasn't going to be able to wear what Ethan wore.. well, apart from the waistcoat.  Luckily I knew that would fit!

For ages I wasn't sure what I'd put Felix in.  I knew there was a good chance it'd be hot so I didn't want heavy trousers or a shirt.  I wanted something he could be comfy in but I also wanted him to look cute, funky and smart - ish!  He does have wild hair, don't forget!

In the end, I just knew that the shorts I had made by Sarah from Marmalade Sky Baby would look awesome.  They are different enough to really stand out.  Cut well enough to look smart.  Soft enough to be comfy for a whole days wear.  I teamed them up with our absolute hands down favorite vest from Whistle and Flute, popped Ethan's old waistcoat over and completed the look with some grey converse.   We think he was rocking!

Ethan  wore his Little MooShoo retro shirt with a waistcoat over the top and some shorts.  It was too warm for trousers.  Unfortunately the cheeky monkey avoided all cameras it seems (well, until he was naked in the garden later that is!) so I don't seem to have any evidence of his outfit!

Both my boys looked fantastic.  They were smart but not over the top.  If you want to know what I wore, check out my previous post on designer dress hire!

Trendy Thursday - The colour grey

One of my fave Instagram peeps is Susan Lynch AKA @SoobyLynch.  She has a wonderful Instagram feed mainly featuring gorgeous photos of her little fashionista Penny.  Susan blogs as well under the name of Standing By The Wall,  so named because she takes photos of Penny in her outfits, standing by the wall!

Susan is running a 30 day challenge, 30 Days of Colour.  The idea is that every three days you are given a new colour and you have to dress, do and find things that fit in with that colour.  The colours are as follows:

Days 1-3 : Yellow
Days 4-6 : Purple
Days 7-9 : Grey
Days 10-12 : Green
Days 13-15 : White
Days 16-18 : Pink
Days 19-21 : Orange
Days 22-24 : Black
Days 25-27 : Red
Day 28-30 : Blue

It's a challenge for anyone and everyone to join in with, all you have to do is take photos and tag them on Instagram using #colourbythewall.

We missed the first few days but we have been joining in with grey, so I thought today I'd share some "grey" looks from myself and the boys!

Colour By The Wall - Grey - Standing By The Wall - SoobyLynch
Colour By The Wall - Grey

Felix:
Grey Vest - very old from Gap
Jelly Shoes - Sunjellies
"Felix" arrow print leggings - Boco Baby

Ethan:
LOVE t shirt - Whistle & Flute
Star print shorts - H&M (last year)

Me:
Grey Hello vest - Hello Apparel via Southwood Stores
Denim shorts - Next

I think we did a reasonable job with grey.  I realised this morning when I was hanging out the washing that we had a load of grey items in the wash.  I should have been more organised.  We'll make more effort with green!

Why not join in?  Search for the tag #colourbythewall on IG, see what everyone has been rocking and have fun!

If you have a kids fashion post to link up, please do so below.  Please, PLEASE don't forget to comment here and visit others who join in.  It's not a huge linky so it's not hard to do.  I have to admit that I find it rather galling when people link but don't comment.

I will make every effort to tweet your links at least once, hopefully twice.

Thanks everybody! xx
